Meet Zaza
A passionate and experienced coach & mentor, who’s on a mission to motivate and inspire Kiwi youth.
My Story
Originally born in South Africa, I grew up with a fascination of the world. I remember reading Encyclopaedias day in and day out, wondering what the other side of the world was like. At the age of 10, my parents decided to make the move over to New Zealand. A figment of my imagination soon manifested, and is the place I now consider home.
I completed all my schooling here in Auckland. During these times, I found it difficult to communicate with many teachers as a result of the cultural differences, as well as the age gap. I was usually motivated by hands on work, and sporting activities. I competed at many sports, notably excelling at soccer and cricket. I have always been very active, pursing hiking trails, rock climbing routes, and surf breaks around the world.
I decided to further my education by acquiring a bachelors degree in Sport and Recreation. While studying, I worked for Counties Manukau Sport, and also coached soccer at Pakuranga College (my former high school). Through these years, my passion for working with children and youth increased, and fuelled my desire to complete my studies.
While studying I had always planned to do an OE as I was, and still am very passionate about travelling. Upon completion, I embarked on a 2 week vacation to the United States, with every intention on returning home. Time soon passed, and it was time to leave. I challenged myself to stay a little longer and venture out a little further. Not really knowing where I was going, how I would get there, or when I would return. Fast forwarding 6 years, here I am again, in Aotearoa.
In the 6 years, I travelled all over the USA, Central and South America, as well as Europe and Asia. These years were fundamental to my learning experience, and understanding of life. I volunteered at many churches, recreation centres, and sports teams around the world in this time. Learning and teaching new skills, helping others, sharing knowledge, stories, and experiences, and most importantly making people laugh and smile.
In retrospect, I feel very fortunate that I was able to do this. I have gained priceless experience, made life long friends along the way, learnt a new language, and completed my bucket list of countries which I wanted to visit. I feel that it is only right that I bring this experience and knowledge back home to share with our fellow kiwis.
During these extremely difficult times that we all now face due to Covid-19, we need to come together as fellow New Zealanders to help and support one another. To help secure a Future Footprint for our children and youth, I have created this Company to inspire, motivate, help, and facilitate the learning process which is imperative to their growth and maturity.
